The Sixth Central Pay commission was set up by Union Cabinet
of India on 5th October 2006 for revising the salaries of central government’s employees. The commission was set up under Justice B.N.Srikrishna. Report of Sixth Central Pay Commission was submitted to Finance Minister P. Chidambaram, now Home Minister, by Justice B. N. Srikrishna on March 24, 2008.
The government ordered release of the second instalment of arrears due to employees and pensioners on account of the Sixth Pay Commission recommendations. The decision will benefit 3.3 million employees and 4 million pensioners on the civilian side besides uniformed defence service personnel.
All other state like Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Tamil Nadu ,Chhattisgarh, new delhi and West Bengal already decided to impediment 6th pay report for state gov employees. Employees of these states will also get the same pay.
