AIIMS
All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) is a medical college and hospital in Delhi, India. It is considered one of the most prestigious medical colleges in India, and is globally recognized for providing low-cost medical care to a large number of patients. It was established as an institution of national importance by an Act of Parliament with the objects to develop patterns of teaching in Undergraduate and Post-graduate Medical Education in all its branches so as to demonstrate a high standard of Medical Education in India. There were practically no facilities for post-graduation in medical sciences and most of the students went to the United Kingdom for higher learning.
A recent study at AIIMS shows that a significant number of commercial drivers who got injured in road accidents either had abnormal sleep patterns or had sleep deprivation a night before the accident. According to the study, up to 60% of such patients had not slept properly a night before the accident and 15% people had abnormal sleeping habits.
